Data Society is an online training program for those interested in becoming data scientists. They recently came up with an idea to have a monthly "Dataset Challenge" using real-world datasets on; you can read more about the partnership between Data Society and in this Medium post.

It just so happens that the OSMI 2016 survey results were already up on and ready for analysis, so we're very grateful to have been chosen as the data source for the inaugural "Dataset Challenge"! Hopefully that means we'll get some fresh eyes on the results, with new ideas for how to analyze them.

To participate in the challenge, post an analysis or visualization on the “Data Society Challenge” discussion thread by April 1, 2017. You may also want to check out our Hypotheses & Questions thread. Impressive entries will be highlighted in’s Datasets Digest newsletter as well as Data Society's newsletter, featured in’s Distinct Values blog, and promoted on social media. Plus, will send the top five challenge participants a swag bag.
